History
The Birth of Little Picasso
Artist and passionate teacher, Lindy Moran Viola, created Little Picasso with Picasso’s philosophy in mind. When we are young we are all artists. We must remember to nurture the gift and hold onto it when we grow older.
From a young age, Lindy loved art and she has vivid and happy memories of her early art teacher who was a great believer in Pablo Picasso’s philosophy. Moreover, when Lindy became a mother her “Picasso” belief became even stronger when she explored art with her two little boys. “It became clear to me how important art is to a child’s development, confidence and how they see themselves.”
When several mothers with pre-school age children asked Lindy to tutor their children, she happily accepted. Interest grew and the children’s ages expanded from toddlers to pre-school to older age children. Her home studio became crowded and a bigger studio was needed for her personal painting and teaching. In 2008, after a long search, Lindy finally found a great space that reminded her of a New York warehouse studio. So inspiring! Little Picasso now has a home.
Lindy’s early art teacher and looking at art through her ‘child eyes’ played key roles in inspiring Lindy in her love of art and teaching philosophy.
